Granola Bars with Chocolate Chips & Camelina Seeds

2 cups (500 ml) of dried and pitted dates

1 cup (250 ml) of water

1/2 cup (125 ml) of chopped camelina chocolate Signé caméline (or chocolate chips)

1 cup (250 ml) of quick cooking oats (oatmeal)

1 cup (250 ml) of puffed rice

1/2 cup (125 ml) of plain camelina seeds Signé caméline

1 teaspoon (5 ml) of pure vanilla extract

Préparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine dates and water.
  2. Cook 10 minutes over medium heat or until all water is removed from the pot.
  3. Remove from fire.
  4. Mash the dates with a fork to puree.
  5. Add the chocolate to the dates and mix to melt.
  6. In the same pot, add the oats, puffed rice and vanilla. Mix well.
  7. Distribute the mixture evenly in a 20 cm (8 inch) square dish. Press the mixture firmly into the pan with a fork.
  8. Refrigerate 1 hour. Cut to obtain 10 bars.
